North Captiva Island

Boy did we find a gem! The Blue Marlin House on North Captiva Island was the absolute best choice we have made in a while. It was such an amazing place, we already booked for 2026!!

The island was still under a little repair from the 2 hurricanes that hit in 2024, but everyone on this little slice of paradise was so friendly, so happy to be walking or driving in their golf carts (no cars on this island either, LOL). There are so many homes to AirBnb or VRBO, just don't take our 2 weeks at the Blue Marlin! HAHAHA!

From the moment we stepped off the boat, we felt like we had entered a hidden paradise. It was our first time on the island—two whole weeks ahead of us, with no idea what to expect. Turns out, it was the best decision ever! 🌴✨

The Blue Marlin was everything we could have dreamed of—and more. Every detail was perfect, from the sparkling clean interiors to the fully stocked amenities. But the real magic? Our own private pool, our own golf cart for exploring, and best of all—our own private beach. 🏝️☀️ Mornings started with coffee on the wraparound deck, watching the sun paint the sky in fiery pinks and golds as it rose over the endless blue ocean. And every single day, right from our deck, we spotted dolphins gliding through the waves—an experience that never got old! 🐬🌊

One of the most unforgettable moments? Seeing gentle manatees up close in a quiet bay just steps from our house. Standing on the dock, watching these graceful creatures glide effortlessly through the clear water beneath us—it was nothing short of magical.

The island itself had just the right balance of seclusion and convenience. A handful of charming restaurants and a small local store gave it that intimate, untouched feel, while the option to have groceries delivered straight from the mainland made life effortless. No crowds, no stress—just island living at its finest.

And talk about a front-row seat to adventure! Right next to the house was a private landing strip, where we watched small planes and helicopters swoop in and take off—so close it felt like we could reach out and touch them. ✈️🚁

For nature lovers, this place is a dream come true. The 700-acre nature preserve was a treasure trove of winding trails, pristine beaches, and untouched landscapes waiting to be explored. We wandered for hours, soaking in the fresh air, the quiet, and the sheer beauty of it all. And our dogs? They had the time of their lives, running free on the sand and splashing in the waves. 🐕🏖️

We seriously debated keeping this gem all to ourselves (LOL), but we had to share it. If you're craving a slice of secluded paradise—where sunrises steal your breath, the ocean stretches forever, and every day feels like a dream—this is it. ✨🌊☀️
