In February 2024, Melissa and I jumped at the chance to visit Cameron while he was studying at Edinburgh University—So we packed our bags, and met him in England for a whirlwind adventure filled with jaw-dropping history, breathtaking views, and legendary landmarks. 🏰🚆
From wandering through centuries-old streets to standing in the shadows of iconic sites we’d only seen in history books, every moment was a bucket-list experience come to life. England truly blew us away, and getting to explore it alongside Cameron made it all the more special. Stay tuned—because we have so many stories to tell! ❤️✨
London: A Bucket-List Dream Come True
From the moment we arrived, we hit the ground running! 🚶♂️💨 Our days were filled with legendary landmarks, centuries-old history, and postcard-perfect sights:
🕰 Big Ben – Even more impressive in person, towering over the city with its iconic chimes.⛪️ Westminster Abbey – Walking through history where kings and queens have been crowned for generations!
🏰 Buckingham Palace – No royal sightings, but we did catch the famous Changing of the Guard!
👑⚔ The Tower of London – The Crown Jewels? Absolutely dazzling! The stories? Chilling and fascinating.
🌉 London Bridge & Tower Bridge – Both stunning, but let’s be honest…Tower Bridge steals the show!
🌳 Hyde Park – A peaceful break from the city buzz, with swans gliding across the Serpentine.
🍵 Afternoon Tea at The Shard – And let’s talk about THOSE VIEWS!
😍 Sipping tea 40 floors up, with all of London spread out beneath us, was an experience we’ll never forget.
Cotswolds: Like Stepping Into a Fairytale 🏡🌿
After soaking in the energy of London, we slowed things down and headed to Chipping Campden, a charming, picture-perfect village in the Cotswolds. Our adorable two-story cottage had its own courtyard with a hot tub—yes, please! 🛁✨ Even with the evening chill, we soaked under the stars before cozying up by the crackling fireplace with a glass of wine in hand while Cameron read his book. Talk about a perfect night!
The next day, we took a day trip to Bourton-on-the-Water, also known as “Little Venice.” 🚣♂️ And the nickname? Spot on! The low stone bridges over the water, the quaint cobblestone streets, and the charming cottages made us feel like we had stepped straight into a storybook. Every corner of this town was postcard-worthy!
Already Planning Our Return! ✈️
We were so enchanted by the Cotswolds that we’re already planning our next trip back to explore even more villages! England stole our hearts, and we can’t wait to dive deeper into its charm, history, and of course, more cozy cottages with fireplaces and wine! 🍷🔥 Stay tuned—our next adventure is coming soon! ❤️✨
