A Family Adventure Through the Florida Keys – With a Few Twists Along the Way!

For our first-ever December/January trip (2023/2024), we decided to go big—flying into Miami and embarking on an unforgettable road trip through the Florida Keys. We made stops in Key Largo, Marathon, and Key West, taking in the breathtaking views along the iconic Overseas Highway.

The trip didn’t start exactly as planned (thanks to an unexpected encounter with another driver), but we weren’t about to let that ruin our adventure! We rallied, shook it off, and made the absolute best of it.

Knowing this might be one of our last big family vacations before the kids fully dive into adulthood, we went ALL OUT—staying at some of the most beautiful resorts in the Keys, indulging in incredible food, and soaking up the stunning ocean views at every turn.

Though we were all a bit sore from the accident, we couldn’t have been more grateful for perfect weather, amazing experiences, and—most importantly—another unforgettable trip together as a family. 💙🚗🌴

Key Largo – The First Stop

We kicked off our journey with a quick overnight stay in Key Largo, soaking in the laid-back island vibes before heading further down the Keys.

Marathon – Isla Bella Beach Resort (A Must-Stay!)

Next, we arrived at Isla Bella Beach Resort, and wow—this place is a dream!

Our next stop brought us to Key West, where we stayed at the Opal Key Resort & Marina—right in the heart of it all!

Back to Marathon – Tranquility Bay Beachfront Resort

On our way back, we made one last stop at Tranquility Bay Beachfront Resort, and we were blown away!

If we had to pick favorites, Isla Bella and Tranquility Bay in Marathon were hands-down the most impressive resorts of the trip—both for the size of the rooms and the unbeatable oceanfront experience.
